Ilya Lekhanov was born in 1986, in Orel into a family of actors. At the age of 4 Ilya started playing music.
He received his first music education in Chelyabinsk. In 2010 Ilya graduated from the Tchaikovsky Moscow State Conservatory (the piano department of Professor Eliso Virsaladze, the chamber music department of Professor Nina Kogan). In 2015 he graduated from the Bern University of the Arts (the piano department of Professor Tomasz Herbut).
In 2017 Ilya Lekhanov graduated from the Zuericher hochschule der Kuenste where he studied with Professor Eckart Heiligers.
Ilya Lekhanov started performing in 2001.
He has performed throughout Russia, Italy, Bulgaria, Greece, Switzerland, Germany, Serbia and Israel.
He has worked with such conductors as Michael Sanderling, Radu Popa, Kaspar Zehnder, Wang Puhan , Anton Grishanin, Sergey Ferulyev.
He has been recorded on CD and has performed on radio and TV.
